Our instructors have more high volume experience than any other school. Our staff is young and still active in the industry. Odds are; if you’ve been out at any of the popular clubs around here, you’ve already seen us in action. We’re still out there, we’re still making money, and we’re still doing what we love. It’s our passion for this industry that brings us to teach, not necessity.

Aurora Bartending trainers have extensive experience in all aspects of the bartending profession, yet, are young enough to still be active and well known in the bar and night-life community.  We are “In the middle of it all” when it comes to the latest drinks, venues, and parties. The night-life and bar industry is an ever-evolving animal. Unfortunately the role and skills of a bartender are being watered down from generation to generation largely due to these “average” bartending schools that focus more on handing you a piece of paper stating that you’re officially a bartender, instead of actually training you how to become a good one. At Aurora, it is our mission to rebuild this industry from the ground up.

The “get ’em in, get ’em out” policy does not apply to Aurora Bartending students. After finishing an extensive training course, Aurora students will be expected to legitimately pass both the written and practical final exams in under 3 attempts or be asked to attend additional classes. Ensuring that our students graduate with extensive experience is how Aurora Bartending Schools continue to keep their good reputation.

We only accept 8 students maximum per class. This ensures that every student gets equal time behind the bar as well as uncompromised access to the instructor. We have 8 bar stations that include: digital workstations that power our “Aurora Speed Drills”, cash registers with bar P.O.S. Systems and a state of the art sound system to simulate a bar / nightclub environment.

Whoever said “You can’t mix business with pleasure”, has no business talking about business, or pleasure. The most important aspect of Aurora Bartending School is having fun. With young, personable instructors, energetic music, and plenty of optional networking parties / events, there is never a dull moment.

“Group T.I.P.S. Training”

T.I.P.S. (Training for Intervention Procedures) is a dynamic, skills-based training program designed to prevent intoxication, drunk driving and underage drinking by enhancing the fundamental “people skills” of servers, sellers and consumers of alcohol.

“T.I.P.S.” gives individuals the knowledge and confidence they need to recognize potential alcohol-related problems and intervene to prevent alcohol related tragedies as well as lower insurance costs for venue owners.

“Group Speed Training”

Aurora’s “Group Speed Training” service is designed to teach a venue’s existing bartending staff key shortcuts and speed techniques to boost overall liquor sales behind the bar as well educate them on the positive impact “systems” and an “efficiently” set up bar can have on their “ring”.

“Loss Prevention Training”

Aurora’s “Loss Prevention Training” service is designed to train a venue’s management and ownership how to identify and pinpoint theft and loss of liquor profits behind the bar. It covers everything from spotting over-pouring, to the correct placement and angle of bar cameras, to identifying liquor waste through targeted inventory control.

“Staff Hiring Sessions”

Aurora’s “Staff Hiring Sessions” service allows a venue’s management and ownership to sit back and focus on other important things while letting Aurora handle the tedious and time consuming task of scouting, interviewing and hiring a full staff. Aurora will hold an open call and conduct each interview, narrowing applicants down to the most suitable, which can then ultimately be selected by a venue’s management or ownership.

“Bar Ethics Seminar”

Aurora’s “Bar Ethics Seminar” is designed to enlighten a venue’s bar staff to the morality of stealing and costly neglect. It reminds bar staff members that they are walking into a business investing nothing while ownership can be thousands, sometimes millions of dollars invested and that the liquor is not theirs (the bartender’s) to give away. It also stresses the negative and positive impact each individual bartender can have on the revenue of a venue.

Besides making you a serious amount of money and freeing up most of your day, being a bartender can open you to a world of opportunities. As a bartender you will encounter hundreds if not thousands of different people each week. One customer can be the head of a Fortune 500 company, the next could be a famous sports player and the next could be the guy from your local grocery store. Regardless, there are very few fields that allow you to interact with such a wide range of people every day. You never know what may come out of it. Did you know that Bruce Willis was a bartender before he was an actor? His friends would joke that he was more famous behind the bar than in front of the camera. Above all else, BARTENDING IS FUN!!! Not many people get to have fun and make money at the same time.
There are many people in the bartending profession, but a truly good bartender is hard to find. Although it may seem easy, being a good bartender is far from just that. A good bartender must be fast, sociable, quick-witted, and know how to deal with every type of personality. At Aurora, we not only teach our students these traits, we embed them into their personalities so that their movements and reactions become second nature.
Aurora Bartending School is dedicated to teaching real, practical speed bartending using unique curriculum and techniques. Your trainers have extensive experience in all aspects of the bartending profession, yet, are young enough to still be active and well known in the bar and nightlife community. We are also the only school that gives each student a chance to make their money back.
NO! Companies that advertise this are being dishonest. In New Jersey and New York all that is required to bartend is that you are 18 years old and have a bar card through the police dept (for background checking purposes) of the town or city you work in. Handing a certificate to a manager of a bar or nightclub is one of the last things you want to do. Anyone can print out a certificate, it means nothing and shows the owners or managers hiring nothing.
At Aurora Bartending Schools, we understand that sometimes it may not be that easy to come up with the full tuition to attend a course. If it was, you wouldn’t need a job. That is why we offer a variety of ways to supplement part, or all of your tuition such as; Marketing Programs, Referral Programs, “Friends and Family” Night, etc.  Feel free to Contact Us with any questions regarding this.
Each Aurora graduating class is given the chance to invite their family and friends to a real, local venue in which they, themselves, will be bartending. This allows the graduate to overcome their “first time jitters” as well as receive support (and tips) from their friends, family and walk-in customers. This makes Aurora Bartending Schools a short-term investment, with long term financial and networking benefits.
The custom profile page hosted on the Aurora.ID. website, which includes your profile picture, cover photo, resume, social media links and a 3 minute video clip of you performing your “final” speed drill will be viewed regularly by bar owners and managers searching for new employees. This page also allows you to walk into a venue furnishing only your personal Aurora business card which directs to your profile page. This allows an owner or manager to make an informed decision based upon what he sees from your profile.
“Bar-In-A-Box” is Aurora’s complete A to Z consulting program. A venue has the option, either Pre- or Post- construction, to hire an Aurora consultant to come in and perform any and all tasks involved with opening your business. These tasks include, but are not limited to; complete staffing (from bartenders to bathroom attendants), training owners or existing managers in liquor ordering, inventory control, Z-OUT processes, choosing the correct POS systems or registers, choosing the correct glassware, bar efficiency optimization, etc. This program can save owners large amounts of time and money as well as peace of mind in knowing that it will be done right the first time.
Aurora Bartending Schools sponsor many promotional and charity events at some of the hottest Bars and Nightclubs around. This allows us to stay active in the nightlife community as well as continue to grow in our mission to rebuild the industry. At any of these events, Aurora students will receive V.I.P. privileges that may include: Complimentary or reduced admission, a free drink or % off of a table reservation, etc. Each upcoming event will be posted on our website along with pictures and blogs of past events.
